JUPITER LAW CENTER has been hosting a series of six (6) lectures entitled LAW FOR THE LAYMAN on general interest law topics at the Adult Division of Jupiter Community High School's Night School since 1992. LAW FOR THE LAYMAN is a FREE program (except the nominal administrative fee charged by the school) offered to those in the community and Small Business Owners seeking an easy to understand presentation of everyday legal matters, covering a wide range of topics of practical importance and interest, including:
Wills/Trusts • Probate Estates
Divorce • Custody • Child Support
Contracts • Real Estate • Leases
Corporations • Criminal • Personal Injury
Litigation and Court Procedure
Students who complete this course should be able to:
- identify and avoid situations before they become problems
- understand legal terms and one's rights & obligations
- recognize pitfalls of the "small print"
- reduce one's exposure and liability
- make more informed decisions
